I’ve been working on a small RC car that I want to use as a platform for an infrared illuminator. I’m planning to mount an infrared camera on it and try to take video from inside a rabbit warren near my house. I stripped down the chassis to the bare bones and want to replace the operating headlights with infrared illuminators because I think regular light would disturb the rabbits. I put tank treads on it instead of wheels so it should have good traction and mobility. I think that once it stops moving for a while, the rabbits would go back to their normal activity patterns and I could get some really cool footage, especially with the infrared illuminator. I’m not sure how far in the car can go before it loses the wireless connection the video receiver and the remote control. I may need to add a trailing wire antenna to extend the range.

I can’t believe that just anybody can buy an infrared illuminator cheaply through the web. It just doesn’t seem to me like there is any legitimate purpose for an infrared camera except to spy on people. At least that’s the only purpose I can see for them. It seems like infrared illuminators and other types of equipment like this can be bought anywhere. I got one camera and one infrared illuminator.

I am so stoked about the hidden camera gear I saw at Supercircuits. Even an infrared illuminator so you can record in the dark. The infrared illuminators flood the area with infrared making everything crystal clear to the infrared camera, while it stays completely dark to anyone in the room. They would have no idea that for the IR camera, the whole place is lit up light daylight and everything is being recorded. This stuff is so cool and the gear is small enough to be easily hidden, so when the lights do come on, nothing is visible. I just have to figure out what kind of recording device I need to use with the infrared illuminator I'm getting and how to control it without being noticed.

My friend owns a company that just endured some pretty serious theft so I
have been considering buying infrared illuminator. Seems like there are not
many good sites to search for an infrared camera but I did find one awesome
site. Also, several people suggested Supercircuits.com as THE place to go
and search. I did see a great infrared illuminators but not sure if it is
exactly what I want. And the search goes on for my infrared illuminator, And on. And on..

When you go to the Supercircuits.com site, you'll see what I mean. I also saw some infrared illuminators that was really cool. But the search goes on for the perfect infrared illuminator. And on.. And on..
